January 2016 in The Sims 4 General Discussion

So, how exactly we make a sims family living in community lot like library, park or gym in Sims 4? There are 2 unplayed sims in my game that currently living in Library and Cacti Casa Generic Lot (Museum).
I can't embed picture so here's the link for the screenshot:

There's a sims family living there right? They just shows up suddenly when I start the game after yesterday I deleted most of unplayed sims then exit the game.
Here's too: h.tt.p://i.imgur.com/cXWL0Gk.png

Also:

There's a new choices to sell the retail store and when I click, this pop up will show up: h.tt.p://i.imgur.com/LEaD1rc.png

I can transfer my sims to those lot but I can't figure how to make other sims living in community lot. I tried to buy a retail store from the phone but the game said I can't buy a community lot. I tried to change my house type but the game also said it can't be done too. But there are two household currently living in a generic lot and library, it means there's a way somehow right? Any cheat, perhaps?

I want to make my sims family living in a park so other sims will come to my place anytime they want without invited and so my children can play with other kid without the need to go to the park everytime.

You can't set a community lot as your residence, specifically. You can simply move your sims onto the lot. Build them a little house at the back and call them caretakers or something, if you want. They won't get any bills and the property won't be considered "theirs" but other sims will visit uninvited, etc.

How to move my sims to the lot? Yes, I want many sims coming uninvited that's why I want to make so my sims family live in the park.
Was it the same way like those two in my screenshot can live in library lot and museum lot?

Sims can't "move" to the lot exactly. You can evict them from the residential lot they live in and have them be "homeless" Sims, or you can give them an empty lot as a home lot but not use it.

You need to evict them from their home and then control them where you want them to live. This won't be like a regular home situation, though. As luthien said, you can't move them into the lot with the move option or manage worlds. You will have to make them go there when you want them at "home."

Aren't the NPC's? They aren't living there the same way your played sims live in a residence. They're essentially squatting.

Yes they're npc, but I can transfer sims from my household to their households and make my sims live in library or museum. But the lot I specifically want to be is the park. Another question then, how to make npc live in the park like those two or the things only occurred randomly (Which I don't know why it can be happening)?

First, I misunderstood some things, so I apologize. Not sure my answers are accurate in your case. Personally, I've never seen a person showing a residence as a community lot. Do you have any mods or CC in your game? Because that doesn't sound right.

Second, if you want to take advantage of this (what I assume is a glitch of some sort), you can likely get your family to have their residence at the Library or Generic lot by doing just what you said--move them into those Sims' households but then boot out the original owners (or make them have an "accident" How to living in community Lot? As for doing this at the park, I don't see how you can duplicate this unless your game does whatever it did with the other two and sets up an NPC hh at the park.

Also, your images for those who are interested:

Thanks! I thought I can recreate something like this. So this is really a glitch :(
I only used the no cull mod without CC. But the one that live in library is already live there even before when I use the mod. It's happened after I update the game and install expansion packs. Maybe that's the trigger for this occurence somehow.

Hmmm, I wonder why that happened. It really seems odd to me. Well if it's something you don't want to happen, I would post in the bugs forum. If you like it happening, you could always just let it go and see if someone shows up on a park lot for you. I would, however, suggest making a secondary save under a different name as a backup in case the glitch ends up causing game breaking issues down the line.

You should try playing Skate 3. Apparently, it's one massive glitchfest.

Nice animations, but I think I'll give it a pass.

    Hello.
Sims should not be able to live in community lots.
With the Cacti Casa lot, it looks like your game may have been affected by the issue that some simmers have had where the lot is classed as generic and then the lot type can't be altered. When that happens, simmers hsve needed to start a new save game file.
It would be best for you to now start a new save game. You can save your sims households from this current save game to your library. Then start a new save game and place them into the new game. They will lose their inventories and collections progress, but will retain their skills and career.

I'm having the exact same problem, turns out the game is treating the community lots with sims "living" in them as retail lots. Click the affected lot and there will be an option to sell the lot and it will go back to normal. The sims that "owned" them get all the money though!
