And hundreds for very short stories

One question. And be honest as I know if you are lying. Do you think you’ll ever get started on that novel idea shoved at the back of your desk drawer or relegated at the end of your notes app? I think I have up to 7,500 reasons to give you a nudge.
The origin story for highly celebrated writers generally starts with “I was writing short stories for magazines until I got my break”. Famously, Stephen King had a spike in the wall where he would hang rejection letters until it fell off and had to put a larger one in. A bloody one based on his work.
The digital age is withholding us from the (cool) motivational symbol of rejection letters impaled in a spike reminiscent of how Vlad the Impaler treated those who dared to try and stop him from achieving his goals. But there are still plenty of publications that pay good money for a quality submission.
Also, if you can still find a way to turn email ghosting into a motivational visual, Vlad away! (and tell me how)
There are two aspects of the short story writer. We’ll get the obvious out of the way, $$$$$. Will talk about them shortly. However, if you ought to succeed, money will be an afterthought. The drive is much more powerful.
