What is the order of the Gourmet Detective movies? (2024)

Based on a series of novels by author Peter King, the Gourmet Detective movie series is a long-running collection of films, about a chef turned sleuth who teams up with a police detective to solve puzzling mysteries. The series – which stars Dylan Neal and Brooke Burns – made its debut with two movies on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel in 2015, before leading to sequels in 2016, 2017, and 2020.

The Gourmet Detective movies in order

What is the order of the Gourmet Detective movies? (1)

The Gourmet Detective (2015)

The first entry in the movie series was The Gourmet Detective. The film told the story of famous San Francisco culinary consultant, Henry Ross, who teams up with police detective Maggie Price when a murder takes place at his friend’s five-star restaurant.

Gourmet Detective: A Healthy Place to Die (2015)

Picking up after the events of The Gourmet Detective, the second entry in the series was titled A Healthy Place to Die. In this film, Henry and Maggie join forces once again, when a journalist is murdered at a luxury resort where Henry is guest presenting a food conference.

Death Al Dente: A Gourmet Detective Mystery (2016)

Following the success of the first two entries in the Gourmet Detective movie series, a third film arrived in 2016. The movie – titled Death Al Dente – saw Henry and Maggie investigate the murder of Henry’s friend.

Gourmet Detective: Eat, Drink, and Be Buried (2017)

In the fourth entry in the Gourmet Detective movie series, Eat, Drink, and Be Buried, Henry and Maggie witness a murder at a birthday party. But the murder is not as straight forward as it seems and they have to work tirelessly to uncover the real killer.

Roux the Day: A Gourmet Detective Mystery (2020)

Following a three-year hiatus, the Gourmet Detective movie series returned to screens in 2020 with the fifth instalment, Roux the Day. In this movie, Henry and Maggie team up once more to unravel a murder mystery which is connected to a recipe book.
