There are a lot of real-life events and actions that have been successfully integrated into The Sims 4. Your Sims can ride bikes, become vegetarian, woohoo with other Sims they have a romantic relationship with and even get arrested — just to name a few.
But can Sims get drunk? Many gamers are wondering if they can make their Sims drink until they get completely drunk. Keep on reading this article to learn the answer.
Can Sims get drunk in The Sims 4? Sims cannot get drunk in the Sims 4. If they drink too much, their happy moodlet will turn into a moodlet that indicates they’re not feeling well. Technically speaking, they can’t get drunk but they experience the effects of alcohol.
How to Sims get drunk in The Sims 4?
As your Sim continues to drink more glasses, a moodlet will show up indicating they’re getting happier and happier. If they continue drinking too much, the happy moodlet will get replaced with a new one indicating they’re feeling ill.
In The Sims 4, there is no specific moodlet for getting drunk. However, based on the fact that your Sim will get ill after drinking too much, it’s safe to say they can get a bit drunk. The only difference is that there is no specific moodlet to indicate that. And drinking too much does not affect interactions.
Interestingly enough, if your Sim goes to a bar or a place where there’s the option to have a drink, most of the times, they’ll grab a glass on their own. If there is alcohol around, your Sims will drink it but they won’t get drunk.
As always, if you’re open to mods and custom content, you can install dedicated mods that will actually get your Sims drunk. Of course, the clean game does not support such a behavior. But if you’re interested in seeing how your Sims would react if they drank too much, get a ‘drunk’ mod.
On a side note, those of you who played The Sims 2 will remember clearly that Sims could get very drunk and even fall on the floor if they drank too much.
