The Sims 4: Cave of Sulani Guide (2024)

The Sims 4: Island Living, the seventh expansion pack in The Sims 4 franchise, transports players to the tropical paradise of Sulani. Since its release on June 21, 2019, players have been able to explore a variety of vast and diverse islands, and even transform into mermaids. Sulani offers a plethora of activities such as conservation efforts, uncovering secrets, participating in beach activities, collecting items, and immersing in the local culture for a complete island experience.

Compared to other Sims worlds, Sulani boasts a significant amount of activities that have a larger impact on the island's well-being. Although not explicitly stated, there is an interactive system that allows the island to flourish when players engage in specific activities. The Mua Pel’am neighborhood is where most of these conservation activities occur, along with being the location of many of Sulani's secrets. The Cave of Sulani, a hidden gem in this area, provides players with an opportunity to embark on an adventure, collect unique items, and more.

How To Get To Cave of Sulani

The Cave of Sulani is a fascinating location nestled within the Mua Pel'am neighborhood, an uninhabited island in Sulani. Due to the presence of an active volcano in the area, only three lots are available, all being uninhabited, one being an empty lot, another being a shipwreck, and the third being an off-the-grid house lot. This aligns with the islands geological activity, as the volcano can do damage to the lots and potentially kill the Sims who touch the non-cooled lava rocks that may fall from the sky during an eruption. However, the area still offers plenty of sights and experiences, such as the breathtaking waterfall and the coral reef grotto where many mermaids can be found.

To reach the Cave of Sulani, players should travel to one of the lots in the neighborhood and pan around to locate the entrance situated alongside the base of the volcano. The best way to locate the cave is to first look for the colorful waterfall, which is located nearby on the right. It is easy to spot the waterfall due to its vibrant colors. Once players reach the waterfall, they can look for a colorful wall mural, which marks the entrance to the cave. From there, they can embark on an exciting adventure to discover the secrets hidden within the depths of the cave.

Cave of Sulani Activities

Once the Cave of Sulani is located, players can explore the cave immediately by clicking on the cave entrance or the mural on the wall. However, unlike most hidden areas in the game, players won't be presented with chance cards when exploring. Instead, they will receive information on the notification bar about what has happened during their adventures. Unfortunately, it is not possible to enter the cave as it is a complete rabbit hole interaction without any secret lot inside like Sixam, Forgotten Grotto, or Sylvan Glade. Nonetheless, as players explore the cave more and more, further interactions will unlock, allowing players to read fun interactions their Sims did inside the cave. Occasionally, they might come out with reward items and unique moodlets.

Players will also notice that there is a large and incomplete mural at the mouth of the cave. One of the things in Sulani that changes based on the player's interaction with the island is this cave mural. The more the same Sim interacts with the cave, the mural will eventually start changing and become complete, which reflects in storytelling. Furthermore, outside the cave, players can do activities that help the island's conservation even further. They can beach comb for trash or shells, and the nearby waterfall is ideal for many other conservation activities, especially for Sims that are following the Conservationist career, which is one of the most rewarding careers in the game.

Obtainable Items In Cave Of Sulani

The Cave of Sulani may not offer much in terms of interactive exploration, but it is a valuable resource for players seeking to complete their Sulani-related collections, namely seashells and buried treasures. Despite other methods of obtaining these items, the Cave of Sulani provides a convenient and efficient means to do so. With all of these obtainable items, Cave of Sulani becomes a must-visit area in Sulani, for players who are fan of collections, adventures and mermaids alike.

To illustrate, players can typically find buried treasures like the Heart of Sulani by diving near a buoy with a Treasure Tool, fishing, befriending dolphins, or winning gold in a Kava Party. Similarly, seashells can be discovered by combing beaches, diving, or befriending dolphins. However, obtaining these items can be a matter of chance, and players may need to repeat their chosen activity many times to obtain a complete collection. In contrast, exploring the Cave of Sulani requires less effort and yields both seashells and buried treasures with a simple interaction. Although it may not provide the excitement of traditional exploration, the Cave of Sulani remains a useful destination for collection enthusiasts.

Exploring the cave also provides a great opportunity to obtain a substantial amount of Mermaidic Kelp effortlessly. While players can acquire Mermaidic Kelp through other methods such as befriending dolphins or purchasing it from the satisfaction points shop, players can obtain up to 10 Mermaidic Kelp at once while exploring the Cave of Sulani. Additionally, by focusing on completing the cave mural, players can acquire more than 50 Mermaidic Kelp on average. This amount is more than sufficient to transform an entire world into mermaids without requiring a significant investment of time or points from the shop.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
