A new shopping hub in Kingston is taking shape, with construction reaching its final stages. The $60 million Spring Farm Village, located opposite Bunnings on the Channel Highway, is set to open by mid-2026, bringing a range of new amenities to the area.
The developers have shared drone footage showcasing the impressive progress made over the Christmas break. Public works, including footpaths, pedestrian islands, a cycle lane, and a bus stop, are nearly complete, creating a well-connected and accessible environment. Shop facades are nearing completion, and the car parking area is taking shape, offering convenience for visitors.
"Spring Farm Village is really coming to life," the developers excitedly announced. Interior fit-outs for anchor tenant Coles and other retailers are expected to begin soon, bringing a range of shopping options to the community. Coles will operate a 4,200-square-metre supermarket, while Chemist Warehouse will open its first superstore south of Hobart.
Around 15 specialty retailers, including a cafe, bakery, pharmacy, and medical centre, are set to join them, catering to the diverse needs of the local population. The 7,000-square-metre centre was 85% pre-leased late last year, according to developer Tipalea Partners, reflecting the strong demand from retailers.
Tipalea Partners CEO Scott Spanton attributed this demand to the area's rapid growth, stating, "The demand we are seeing from retailers shows just how much this community is crying out for more convenience shopping."
The centre's catchment area covers about 60,000 people, with the population forecast to grow by more than 10% over the next decade. The project is being delivered by construction company Fairbrother and was designed by i2C Architects. In the north-west, Tipalea's other project, Stony Rise Village, is 60% pre-leased and on track to open in mid-2027, further enhancing the area's retail offerings.
"We’re building a proper local village. Easy to pop into. Easy to catch up. Easy to feel part of," the developer said. This new development is set to become a vibrant and essential part of the community, offering a range of amenities that will cater to the diverse needs of the local population.
