Disney+ just got a little more adult. The streaming service added its first R-rated films in the US on Friday with “Deadpool,” “Deadpool 2” and “Logan.” The movies star Marvel superheroes, but as their ratings suggest, they're decidedly not kid-friendly.

Parental Control settings

Since some content on Disney+ is only appropriate for mature audiences, such content may not appear on the Disney+ app or website if the Content Rating is set too low on the profile. The account owner can always raise or lower the Content Rating for the profile as desired.

Feature films released under the Touchstone label were produced and financed by Walt Disney Studios, and featured more mature themes targeted at adult audiences than typical Walt Disney Pictures films. As such, Touchstone was merely a pseudonym label for the studio and did not exist as a distinct business operation.

Down and Out in Beverly Hills was Disney's first R-rated movie. Disney is known for many things—the animated magic it creates with Pixar, classic fairytales and family films, and its adventurous theme parks—but one thing that Walt's legacy is not known for is making R-rated movies.

Blade will be the MCU's second R-rated movie, director Yann Demange has confirmed in a new interview, joining Deadpool 3. As expected it will follow in the footsteps of the original 1998 film, which was also rated R for "strong, pervasive vampire violence and gore, language, and brief sexuality."
