Enjoy this keto soft pretzel recipe as a low-carb salty snack or for your keto lunch. The keto honey mustard dip is perfect too!
Do you ever have a craving for something salty? I have to admit, I crave salty snacks much more often than I crave sweet ones. These soft pretzels hit the spot – and they are low carb so they won’t kick me out of ketosis.
Best Keto Pretzel
Pretzels are a classic snack everyone loves. My kids will grab these pretzels, so I have to make an extra batch for them too. You can eat them after they cool down, but they have the most amazing taste fresh out of the oven. That hot dough with the crunchy sea salt is incredible.
This recipe gives you a crispy pretzel that is soft on the inside and melts in your mouth. Even though it’s made with mozzarella it doesn’t taste like cheese. Don’t forget to sprinkle it with sea salt. This is what gives it so much flavor.
Fat Head Dough Pretzels
Fat Head dough has to be some of the most versatile dough I’ve ever used. You can use it to make all sorts of things – from cinnamon rolls to bagels.
Fat head dough is basically shredded mozzarella cheese, cream cheese, and a low-carb flour. I really like how these pretzels turned out with almond flour. I do not recommend trying to replace the almond flour with coconut flour. It won’t turn out the same since coconut flour soaks up more moisture from the ingredients.
Easy To Make Pretzels
These keto pretzels taste just like a regular carb-filled pretzel, especially when you sprinkle the sea salt on top and tip it in the low-carb honey mustard sauce.
The best thing about them is that they are surprisingly easy to make. Traditional pretzels are made with yeast and you have to let the dough rise. These keto soft pretzels don’t have gluten and don’t have yeast. There is no rising time, so they are even easier to mix and bake.
These are so fun and easy to make. In fact, if your kids love helping you out in the kitchen, they can help you make them.
Soft Pretzel Variations
There are a few different ways you can change the recipe to make them taste completely different. Here are a few of my favorite ideas.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar-free sweetener
- Add chopped japeños to the dough
- Make pretzel bites
- Wrap pretzel dough around sugar-free sausage for keto pretzel dogs
Dip In Keto Honey Mustard
How do you make a ket0-friendly honey mustard dipping sauce? You combine mayonnaise, mustard, and some sugar-free honey. Nature’s Hollow has a honey substitute that mixes in really well and doesn’t have a strong aftertaste.
If you aren’t a fan of honey mustard, try one of these keto dipping sauces instead:
- Keto Chick-Fil-A Sauce
- Jalepeño Cilantro Dipping Sauce
- Sugar-Free Marinara Sauce
- Melted Cheese
