Could some one please tell me if I can use the phrase "Just for clarification,..." not to explain myself but to ask for an explanation about what another person formerly said? As in: "Just for clarification, are you saying that we need to hire another secretary?"

Or "just to clarify" or "let me make sure I understand" or "let me make sure I'm clear on this" or "let me make sure I've got this straight" or "so what you're saying is ..." or (in other circ*mstances) "just to make sure we're on the same page."
