NXT Tag Team Champions Hank and Tank recently made history by capturing the GHC Tag Team Championship in Pro Wrestling NOAH. Their journey began with a significant win at the WWE Stand & Deliver event, where they dethroned Nathan Frazer and Axiom, ending their impressive 229-day reign as NXT Tag Team Champions. While their initial title run with the GHC Tag Team Championships lasted only 127 days, it was cut short by DarkState, they quickly bounced back by claiming a new set of tag team championships.
During a recent trip to Japan, Hank and Tank joined other NXT stars to work a few matches with Pro Wrestling NOAH. At the Korakuen Hall event, they faced Team 2000X and emerged victorious, becoming the 59th champions to hold the prestigious GHC Tag Team Championships. After their match, Kenoh and Naomichi Marufuji issued a challenge for the new champions, adding an exciting twist to the evening.
This isn't the first time WWE stars have found success in Pro Wrestling NOAH. Omos, for instance, held the GHC Tag Team Championships at the beginning of the year when he joined Team 2000X and teamed up with Jack Morris. However, his reign was short-lived as he was sent back to WWE shortly after. Other WWE talents like Charlie Dempsey, Josh Briggs, and Harlem Lewis have also ventured to Pro Wrestling NOAH but have yet to secure championship titles.
The GHC Tag Team Championships are the only NOAH titles to have been won by a WWE superstar so far. It's only a matter of time before other belts, such as the GHC National or the Junior Heavyweight Tag Team titles, are held by WWE talent. WWE's collaboration with TNA has also led to TNA Championships being held by NXT roster members, including Trick Williams, Kelani Jordan, DarkState, and Jacy Jayne.
The wrestling world is abuzz with exciting developments, including the revelation of a major AEW star as Hiroshi Tanahashi's final opponent, a heated argument between Drew McIntyre and Nick Aldis after WWE SmackDown, and a preview of the upcoming AEW Collision event. Additionally, Moose has shared updates on a new TNA media rights deal, adding to the ever-evolving landscape of professional wrestling.
