Create a file from a template - Computer (2024)

You can use Google-created templates like resumes, budgets, and order forms.

Some template features are only available for work or school accounts, and you’re not currently signed in.To sign in to your work or school account, click here.

Use a Google template

1. On your computer, go to Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, or Forms.
2. At the top right , click Template Gallery.
3. Click the template you want to use.
4. A copy of the template opens.

On your computer, open a Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, or Forms.

1. Open the file you want to copy.
2. In the menu, click File Make a copy.
3. Type a name and choose where to save it.
   • To copy any comments to your new file, click Copy comments and suggestions or Copy comments.
4. Click Ok.

If you have a Google Account through work or school (that doesn’t end in @gmail.com), sign in here.

1. Open Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms,or Sites.
2. At the top left, click Menu Settings.
3. Turn Display recent templates on home screenson or off.
