Can anyone tell me something about the current age and whereabouts of Crowley's son Aleister Ataturk McAlpine? Any other children. living or dead?

According to Martin Booth's biography, Aleister Ataturk Crowley was 10 in 1947 at the time of his fathers death in December of that year. Booth claims that his formal education started in 1948 at Wester Eichies, the Gordonstoun preparatoy school, before going to the US sometime later.

Funny that I was actually reading this old post myself last night and tried to do a little digging using the internet.
I found that a lot more hits come up if you search under "Charles Edward d'Arquires"
A recent lot of his was up at auction in 2008 which is also linked on LAShTAL.

I read the following interesting post online today regarding d'Arquires, which suggests that AC may have another living grandson.

''Aleister Macalpine...aka Charles Edward D'Arquies born May 2nd 1937 (born the day after his planned birth of Beltane day) lived a very unhappy schizophrenic life. I was there in Madron, Cornwall the day he set he set off for London as the Count Charles Edward D'Arquies with Peter Bishop in tow, they stayed at the Dorchester Hotel (1976) His son Aleister Macalpine (born June 20th 1968) is my brother, named after him. We treasure his sad memory and the pressures that were unfortunately bestowed upon him by his father Aleister Crowley. He became a deeply religious man in his later years, and was found living on a park bench, just off the Talbot road in London, with his suitcases neatly organized.''

The article appeared in the last issue to date, Volume 2 Number 4. It consisted of two written accounts by Ithel Colquhoun, who knew Ataturk's mother and, of course, Ataturk himself.

Here is a photo of Aleister Ataturk in later life, I think I can see a resemblance to his father in the face.

And to accompany Colquhoun's article in Starfire Volume 2 Number 4, I've also attached one of the newspaper clippings mentioned.

With D'Arquies at the top and his son Aleister Macalpine (born June 20th 1968) in the middle there wearing the yellow waterproof.

The previous 1980 photo of D'Arquies in his full regalia has this hand written note on the reverse side.

I am getting quite confused now. We have two captions for what is apparently the same photograph:-

With D'Arquies at the top and his son Aleister Macalpine (born June 20th 1968) in the middle there wearing the yellow waterproof.

The guy in the yellow is actually the Count himself I've just discovered, so I'm not sure who the worried looking chap at the top is.

Do the captions relate to the same photograph? If so, could you please clarify, exactly what we are looking at.

Aleister Ataturk Crowley was born in 1937 and died in a car crash 2002.

Glad you have found another box of Starfire magazine, Volume 2 Number 4 in storage Michael, "proper job" as Cornish say. Of course, due to my upbringing with my Cornish mother many years ago on the Gwavas Estate, Chywoone Hill, Newlyn, Kernow (Kernewek=Cornwall) when Aleister Ataturk was our neighbour (and a local celebrity in Newlyn, Penzance and West Cornwall) in a caravan in the grounds of Wheal Betsy House, Chywoone Hill, Newlyn, I have just ordered this back issue, and previously some other publications from you a few days ago - Servants of the Star and Snake and Remembering Aleister Crowley (I already had the latter, but purchased another one for a Persian lady pen friend of mine who loves The Master Therion, as a birthday gift for her).

Ps. The late Cornish historian, Pagan, author and politician Dr James Whetter was a good friend of mine (he knew a little about AC), and I kept in touch with him and subscribed to his quarterly cultural journal An Baner Kernewek after I moved "up country" to England.
