2.1 GPA is a C Letter Grade or 73–76% – GPA Calculator (2024)

Is a 2.1 GPA Good?

Compared to the national average of a 3.0 GPA, a 2.1 GPA is significantly under par. A 2.1 GPA is pretty low, however, if you dedicate yourself to your studies, you may still be able to raise it significantly, depending on how many semesters you have until graduation.

For high school students

A 2.1 is not sufficient for application to a college or university. While these institutions consider other factors besides GPA, a GPA of 2.1 is cause for concern.

For college students

Most graduate programs require a GPA of 2.5 to apply. Depending on how close you are to graduation, you may well have time to reach this minimum GPA.

How Can I Raise My GPA?

Raising your GPA will require you to prioritize your studies over almost everything else. A good GPA indicates you take your studies seriously, and will rise to the challenge of a college-level course load.

  • Solicit your instructor or professor for feedback on your work.

  • Actively participate in class.

  • Seek help from tutors or other students who are doing well in the class.
