Is a 1.1 GPA Good?
A 1.1 GPA isn’t good, especially considering the national average is a 3.0 GPA. A 1.1 GPA is extremely low, and implies either significant barriers to learning or a bare minimum effort. Depending on how far along you are in your schooling, you may be in danger of not graduating on time.
For high school students
A college application will most likely not even be considered with a 1.1 GPA. While GPA isn’t everything, a 1.1 GPA will not be ignored by an admissions officer.
For college students
A GPA of 2.5 or 3.0 is usually required to apply for a graduate studies program. You may need to take extra classes to boost your GPA into the desired range. If you’ve completed an internship or apprenticeship that isn’t concerned with your GPA, you may be able to transition into a job with that organization.
How Can I Raise My GPA?
You need to do whatever is necessary to bring up your GPA. This can mean studying, taking extra classes or completing extra work.
Ask your instructor for bonus or makeup work.
Create and adhere to a study schedule, even when you don’t have a test coming up.
Complete all assignments on time and in full.
